Meet Rare Disease Radar
It’s a cliché, but it’s grounded in truth: There is so much more that unites us as humans than that which divides us. We all have a deep-rooted need for communal support. This is why we started Rare Disease Radar. Rare diseases in the US are defined as those that affect less than 200,000 people. Only around 7% of the 7,000 established rare diseases have an FDA-approved treatment. Clearly, this needs more attention. Even worse, one in ten Americans live with at least one rare disease. Our mission is to spread information about these rare diseases in order to empower the community to learn, advocate, and spread awareness for those affected by these diseases.
I’m thrilled that we get to explore these topics together. We encourage all of you to care for each other and the rare disease community.
